My exhibition would consist of a detailed conceptual microfilm. One frame would detail a young black man, mopping the underground subway/train station at night, and the other frame would show that same young black man, tap dancing during the day with crushed soda cans at the bottom of his shoe, to be able to create that tapping noise. The abstract concept behind this philosophical microfilm is on the intricacies of the capitalistic system that we live in, and the unjust means of work, people of color, such as this young black man have to do, in order to reach said goals. It is obvious that his day life, is tap dancing which is his passion and his night life is long strenuous hours of janitorial work, in an awful work environment. Black Americans have to work 10x harder than their white counterparts to reach their foreseeable future and I want this microfilm to visually present those conditions.
